Hi there, I'm Alex and I'm the person behind Cactus.

As a young, neurodivergent child, I always felt like the weird one. It seemed that everyone else wanted to play sports and keep up with the latest trends. And all I wanted to do was make websites. Anything and everything that I could make a website for, I did.

I love thinking about how to make a website visually appealing, engaging, and easy to use. There are so many different ways you could design a site to give a different message or appeal to people in different ways. Once I've decided on the design, I absolutely love the technical challenge of figuring out how to bring it to life. This combination fascinated me from the very first website I built and it has fuelled my passion for the last 20 years and counting.

After graduating with a BSc (Hons) in Software Engineering, I now work on software that's used by millions of people every day. Handling traffic at that scale has really taught me how to build websites which are ready for anything. I bring that understanding to every site I create.
